Alessandro Michele è il nuovo direttore creativo di Valentino. Il primo giorno di lavoro dello stilista romano presso quello che è l’archetipo della casa di moda romana sarà martedì 2 aprile. La sua collezione di debutto sotto la bandiera di Valentino, invece, sarà quella per la primavera estate 2025 e, secondo gli attuali programmi, è previsto che venga presentata durante l’edizione di settembre 2024 della Paris Fashion Week in quella che sarà la sfilata più attesa della stagione.
«È un onore incredibile», ha dichiarato Michele in un comunicato. «Provo un’immensa gioia e avverto un’enorme responsabilità alla prospettiva di entrare a far parte di una maison de couture che ha la parola “bellezza” scolpita su una storia collettiva in cui si fondono peculiare eleganza, raffinatezza e grazia estrema».
La nomina di Alessandro Michele mette definitivamente un punto al (concluso) sodalizio tra Pierpaolo Piccioli e Valentino, durato un quarto di secolo. Prima nell’ufficio stile e poi come direttore creativo, lo stilista cinquantaseienne di Nettuno ha trascorso ben venticinque anni all’interno dell’azienda fondata nel 1959 a Roma dal grande Maestro Valentino Garavani. Incredibile pensare che tutto ciò sia finito in un battito di ciglia, eppure è già tempo di guardare al futuro. Anzi, al qui e ora. Da oggi comincia un nuovo capitolo, e sarà Alessandro Michele a portare avanti il corso della maison Valentino.
