Ancora una volta nel corso della stagione, Balenciaga ha rilasciato una creazione in grado di attirare l’attenzione e, ovviamente, suscitare polemiche: la maison francese, infatti, ha lanciato degli orecchini a forma di lacci per scarpe, venduti al prezzo di 261 dollari.
L’oggetto che ha fatto scalpore presenta per altro un interessante aspetto di upcycling, in quanto i lacci neri e bianchi protagonisti degli orecchini tanto discussi sono in realtà provenienti dalle Triple S, sneakers uscite nel 2017 che hanno consacrato il designer a livello commerciale, portando le ugly dad shoes con la misura del piede in punta a icona street-style e non solo.
Tra le descrizioni dei retailers che si occupano della vendita del singolare oggetto si legge: “l’orecchino rappresenta a pieno l’abilità di Demna di incorporare oggetti di uso quotidiano nelle collezioni di gioielli della maison”.
Una definizione che rappresenta a pieno lo stile Balenciaga degli ultimi anni, basato sulla reinterpretazione di oggetti comuni usati in veste fashion.
Numerose sono le creazioni ad esempio il tanto criticato Trash Pouch venduto al prezzo di 1.790 dollari in tre colorazione diverse, piuttosto che la Paris Sneaker da 1.850 dollari, messa in commercio già usurate, oppure il cuscino da viaggio a forma di cappuccio della felpa.
Marketing o Moda ? difficile stabilirlo, ma alla fine anche Cristobal Balenciaga, fondatore del brand, ai suoi tempi veniva considerato un radicale.
