L'Antica Bottega del Vino, Verona's renowned wine bar, is closing out the year with a new opening in Cortina d'Ampezzo. The new location, located in the heart of the Ampezzo valley at an altitude of 1.200 meters, will open on December 30, 2025, coinciding with the arrival of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.
The project, promoted by "Famiglie Storiche"—the association that brings together thirteen important Valpolicella brands—ideally links the Verona Arena to the peaks of the Dolomites. The initiative aims to be a structural, permanent investment that unites gastronomic tradition and international appeal.
Despite the many changes of ownership experienced by Bottega Veronese, throughout its long history it has always rigorously kept wine at the heart of its identity, making it the distinctive element that has always been the strength of this historic wine bar. The establishment's uniqueness lies in its award-winning wine list, which includes over 20.000 labels from every winemaking sector: a veritable encyclopedia of wine, considered one of the most extensive and diverse in Italy. In addition to its extensive Italian and international selections, the renowned list dedicates special attention to rare and sought-after vintages, with a particular focus on Veneto labels.
Over time, the gastronomic offering has also been refined, transcending the traditional "bacaro" fare and bringing local specialties to the table, such as warm chicken salad, creamed cod, snails, pasta and beans, and, of course, the ever-present Amarone risotto, a typical Veronese dish.
The new venue will be enhanced by splendid antiques and unique interiors created in collaboration with local artisans. Every detail will be carefully considered: a bar counter from an old sacristy dating back to 1789 and a rare late-19th-century Austrian stube welcome guests.
Pierangelo Tommasi, president of Famiglie Storiche, emphasizes the importance of the group's unity: strength, teamwork, and a strong spirit of collaboration are the essential pillars for achieving our goals and continually raising the bar, facing new challenges.
