Last night, in the magical setting of the island of Capri, a gastronomic event was held that brought together two worlds, two seas, and two visions of cuisine. The restaurant L'Olivo, the only two-starred restaurant on the island and the jewel in the crown of the Jumeirah Capri Palace, welcomed the chef Moreno Cedroni, icon of contemporary seafood cuisine, for an exclusive “four-handed” evening together with the resident brigade led by Andrew Migliaccio, Salvatore Elefante e Vincenzo Tedeschi.
The appointment started with an elegant aperitif at the “Artists' Bar”, amidst designer works and signature details that characterize the entire hotel. In the background, the golden light of the sunset and the light notes of a jazz quartet introduced guests to an atmosphere suspended between taste and beauty.
A menu that crosses seas and memories
The evening's gastronomic journey was conceived as a journey between the Adriatic and Tyrrhenian Seas. Cedroni, with his unmistakable signature, presented dishes such as raw scampi marinated in orange and a surprising tuna belly tartare with lobster tartlets. The Olivo kitchen responded with refined interpretations of the Campania region: rabbit ravioli with tonka bean, fish of the day on a cream of truffle-flavored potatoes and cabbage, and a truly memorable dessert.
The grand finale was entrusted to an icon of international pastry making: the dessert “Pistache & Chocolate like a profiterole” signed Pierre Hermé, served in a silence filled with admiration. A gesture that elegantly sealed an evening where everything spoke of balance, research, and passion.
Capri: art, taste, and hospitality
L'Olivo, suspended between sea and sky, once again demonstrated its dedication to excellence. The dinner took place in a room where every detail—from the plates to the ceramics, from the lighting to the music—was designed to convey the identity of a place that thrives not only on landscapes, but on stories.
The whole Jumeirah Capri Palace provided the ideal setting for the event. The new designer suites Patricia Urquiola, the spaces curated like art galleries, and the experiences offered in the internal restaurants – from the refined seaside bistro The Hedgehog, at the Japanese rooftop Zuma, up to the Neapolitan tavern love – complete a vision of hospitality that is both luxury and authenticity.
With this evening, the Capri Palace confirms its role not only as an icon of Mediterranean hospitality, but also as a creative laboratory where talent, local tradition, and culinary culture meet. Those who were there know they experienced something more than a simple dinner: an experience that left the scent of the sea and the beauty of signature cuisine etched in their memory.
