In a gesture that combines elegance and Italian identity, ITA Airways offers passengers of the Business Class on intercontinental flights departing from Italy A gastronomic experience renewed for the autumn season, created by Michelin-starred chef Giancarlo Morelli.
With this launch, the airline intends to consolidate a seasonal culinary journey in which internationally renowned Italian chefs—alternating with young talents—help shape the onboard culinary offerings. "With Chef Morelli's new autumn menu, we continue our journey through the flavors of Italy—a journey that represents a distinctive strategic asset for ITA Airways," says Joerg Eberhart, CEO and General Manager. "Collaborating with Michelin-starred Italian chefs is not only a tribute to our country's excellence, but also a way to offer our passengers an authentically Italian experience that begins on board."
Chef Morelli has conceived dishes that reflect the season with delicacy and colour, enhancing selected raw materials and Lombard roots: among the tastings offered are veal eye round with apple sauce, crispy mushroom risotto, guinea fowl breast, and finally a dessert sponge cake with citrus fruits and caramel.
To enhance the service, the meal will begin with warm homemade bread and extra virgin olive oil, courtesy of I&P, a company known for the quality and authenticity of its products.
This announcement is part of the airline's broader positioning plan, which places "Italianness" at the center not only of the menus, but also of the interiors and details of the travel experience, with the aim of making every phase of the flight a moment of discovery.
ITA Airways is 59% owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and 41% by Deutsche Lufthansa AG. The airline operates domestic and international passenger and cargo services, with a declared commitment to service quality, digitalization, and environmental, social, and governance sustainability.
