The Italian capital hosts an extraordinary event in the fashion and art scene: the first official exhibition of the Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti Foundation. The heart of the exhibition is red, the symbolic color of the famous Valentino fashion house, told through an evocative dialogue between art and high fashion.
On display, 80 historic Valentino dresses are displayed alongside works by world-famous artists such as Jeff Koons, Gerhard Richter, Helen Frankenthaler, Picasso, Rothko and Basquiat, creating a visual and conceptual comparison of the use and meaning of red in art and fashion. The selected models retrace over fifty years of elegance and stylistic innovation, highlighting the evolution of the famous “Valentino red”, the brand’s distinctive shade.
The exhibition, entitled “Horizons-Red”, is curated by Pamela Golbin and Anna Coliva, and is hosted at PM23, the new cultural space of the Foundation located in Mignanelli Square 23, in the heart of Rome, next to the historic headquarters of the maison. The building, known as Palazzo Gabrielli Mignanelli, has recently been renovated to host artistic and cultural initiatives.
Inaugurated on 22 May 2025, the exhibition represents not only a tribute to the color that has made the maison recognizable in the world, but also a celebration of the deep connection between fashion, art and Italian culture. PM23 presents itself as a creative hub dedicated to beauty, innovation and dialogue between disciplines, hosting exhibitions, events and educational projects.
With this event, the Foundation confirms its commitment to preserving and enhancing the creative legacy of Valentino Garavani, offering the public an immersive and refined experience, in one of the most fascinating contexts of the eternal city.
