In the heart of Alto Adige, one of the most renowned wineries in the region has presented the new vintage of its flagship wine: the Terlaner I Primo Grande Cuvée 2022. This wine represents a refined synthesis of the local winemaking tradition, born from the harmonious combination of the best varieties and the most suitable vineyards in the area.
The 2022 cuvée is composed of a carefully selected blend: 62% Pinot Blanc, 35% Chardonnay and 3% Sauvignon Blanc. The Pinot Blanc vineyards are located at high altitudes, between 550 and 600 meters, while the Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grow at 350 and 330 meters respectively. The altitude, together with the south-west exposure, helps give the wine a remarkable aromatic complexity and a deep structure.
Production was deliberately limited: only 3.190 bottles were put on the market, demonstrating the commitment to quality and the care taken in selecting the grapes destined for this exclusive project.
The Terlaner I Primo Grande Cuvée was created with the intention of enclosing the most authentic soul of the local winemaking tradition. The oenologist responsible for the project wanted to create a wine capable of best representing the identity of the winery, combining history, technique and passion in a single label.
Specific tasting notes for the 2022 vintage have not yet been officially released, but previous versions of this cuvée have often been praised for their elegance, aromatic richness and harmony on the palate. For example, the 2021 vintage has received major recognition for its sophisticated profile, which blends white flowers, spices and ripe fruit.
Given the limited number of bottles produced, the 2022 Terlaner I Primo Grande Cuvée is aimed at a narrow audience of enthusiasts and collectors. Previous editions have been in the mid-to-high price range, with 750 ml bottles selling for around $235.
