The 63rd edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan has already stood out as a record-breaking event, with international participation reaching 68% of the operators present. According to President Maria Porro, the overall number of visitors is in line with that recorded during the 2023 edition of EuroLuce. “The fact that almost seven out of ten operators come from abroad is an unprecedented result, and participants come from 151 countries. Among these, the United States stands out,” she underlined.
This success, according to Porro, testifies to the effectiveness of the Salone's strategy, increasingly projected towards an international dimension and oriented towards the exploration of new opportunities. "It is a conscious and proactive response by the industry to a complex global context", he added.
Looking in detail at the origin of visitors, China confirms its position as the leading country in terms of numbers, despite recording a slight decline compared to last year and a more marked decrease compared to 2024, reflecting the difficult trend of the Chinese market. In Europe, the furniture sector maintains a strong position: Germany ranks second, followed by Spain. Poland is showing growing interest, an emerging market that is showing increasing attention to Italian design.
Among the countries on the rise, Japan stands out, gaining significant positions, and the United Arab Emirates, which saw their presence double with 1.723 accredited operators. The young public also made itself noticed: student participation increased by 38%, involving not only Italians but also many from abroad.
SaloneSatellite, dedicated to young talents, welcomed over 35.000 visitors, while the thematic Forums on light registered 1.500 participants over the course of two days.
