Now in its twelfth edition, the ranking “The World's Most Admired Champagne Brands 2025”, drawn up by the American magazine “Drinks International”, has expanded its selection to 40 Champagne houses, reflecting the growing competition in the sector.
To determine the results, a panel of experts comprising independent sommeliers, retail buyers, wholesalers, bar managers, Masters of Wine and specialist journalists expressed their preferences, selecting the five most admired Champagne brands in order of preference. Criteria considered included quality, consistency, brand identity, marketing strategies, value for money and the overall level of prestige.
The brands on the list are renowned and widely appreciated internationally, thanks to their ability to maintain high quality standards over time. However, according to Champagne expert Giles Fallowfield, changes in ranking positions are influenced by factors such as the quality of the vintages, promotional strategies and global market dynamics. The in-depth harvest report and profile of each house offer valuable insights into current trends in the sector.
Despite the fluctuations in the rankings, some brands maintain a top position. Among them, Louis Roederer confirms its first place for the sixth consecutive year, thanks to a perfect balance between innovation, loyalty to tradition, targeted marketing and, above all, an excellent quality of its wines.
Since 2018, Louis Roederer has dominated the ranking, followed for the 2025 edition by Krug in second place and Bollinger, historic supplier to the English Royal House since 1884, which completes the podium. Among the other most admired brands we find Billecart-Salmon in fourth position, Charles Heidsieck in fifth, Pol Roger in sixth and Ruinart in seventh. Dom Pérignon, one of the most iconic brands of Champagne, is positioned in eighth place, followed by Taittinger and Salon, in ninth and tenth place respectively.
Despite going through a difficult economic period, Champagne continues to be a symbol of prestige and celebration on a global level, with its most illustrious houses remaining among the most desired by consumers around the world.
