In a Milan wrapped in a light rain and an almost suspended atmosphere, K-Way has chosen the perfect context to celebrate its sixtieth anniversary. The special event took place at the Museo della Permanente, where the exhibition can be visited at the same time Y/Our Life, dedicated to the history and evolution of this iconic brand.
After all, K-Way has always been "a product deeply rooted in the collective memory" adds the curator of the exhibition, Gianluigi Ricuperati. "An object that belongs to half the population and that crosses the past, the present and the future, intertwining with everyday experience".
For nearly six decades, on rainy days, the model The Claude protects entire generations from the elements. And it is precisely from this iconic garment that the collection takes inspiration R&D FW25, presented during Milan Fashion Week. A fashion show co-ed which celebrates the brand's roots and its spirit of innovation, with shell outerwear returning as protagonists, faithful to the essence from which everything was born.
The clean and minimal lines, without bulky padding, meet the need for versatile and functional clothing, ideal for non-extreme temperatures. The concept of layering (layering) remains central, with some proposals that introduce a wool jersey interior for greater thermal comfort, without sacrificing lightness. Among the most representative models, the cape stands out: a tribute to the legendary The truth, reinterpreted with a contemporary design and updated functionality.
Iconic details such as the pockets – once designed to fold the jacket – take on a decorative and distinctive role, while the colour palette pays homage to the brand's signature colours: from the unmistakable orange to blue/black and burgundy.
Making the fashion show even more evocative was the artistic installation curated by Agostino Iacurci, who transformed the spaces of the Museo della Permanente into a poetic setting, evoking the natural elements that have always characterized K-Way's identity: rain and wind.
