Thursday 30 January sees the opening of the restaurant in the historic Baratti café in Piazza Castello on the corner of Galleria Subalpina, with starred chef Ugo Alciati.
It represents a fundamental step to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the restaurant and does not want to be a commercial operation, but a redevelopment project of a fascinating and historic space, bringing the recipes, experience and suppliers of the chef Alciati.
The menu of the Baratti e Milano restaurant was curated in the graphic version by the artist Annalisa Bollini and includes the presence in the two internal wings of a cheerful and colorful parade of animals, two animals drawn from fantasy to be precise, reminiscent of medieval bestiaries, and inspired by the decorative internal plaques of the restaurant.
Since its birth, 150 years ago, the place has remained unchanged in its characteristics even in the face of renovations at the beginning of the twentieth century. As part of the celebrations, the project “Vetrinista sarà lei” by Helga Faletti will be launched, curated by Luca Beatrice before his sudden death. It is an artistic project according to which contemporary artists will set up the historic window through an architectural and scenographic study.
