It is no secret that Bernard Arnault has a strong interest in Italy. This is reflected in his many initiatives in our country, ranging from the luxury sector, with six maisons and 35 manufacturers (including LVMH's recent participation in Moncler's capital), to high-end tourism, with properties such as Pitrizzo and Romazzino on the Costa Smeralda. According to some rumors collected by Affaritaliani.it, the French tycoon is even considering a permanent move to Italy, more precisely to Milan.
After months of reflection on the fate of Casa degli Atellani, the historic Milanese building purchased by Arnault in 2022, it seems that the idea of transforming it into a hotel has been shelved. On the contrary, it seems that the plan is to transform it into his main residence. The reasons for this choice are not clear, but it is hypothesized that they could be linked to the tax advantages offered by the Italian system, making our country a sort of economic refuge, or to legal issues related to France.
If confirmed, one of the most emblematic buildings in Milan, located at number 65 of Corso Magenta, could soon become the Italian base of one of the most influential and richest families in the world. The Casa degli Atellani, always linked to the figure of Piero Maranghi (descendant of Vincenzo Maranghi and great-grandson of the architect Piero Portaluppi), could thus transform from a symbol of the Milanese aristocracy to the home of a foreign entrepreneur, marking a significant turning point in its history.
