First half of the year markedly growing for illycaffè despite the surge in the cost of green coffee. The first six months show increasing data with consolidated revenues at 289,1 million Euros (+3,8%), Ebitda at 46,2 million (+26,2%), Ebitda margin at 16% (+2,9 ) and with a net profit of 13,6 million euros, doubling on the first half of 2023 thanks to the increase in operating profitability.
“We closed the first half of 2024 with a double-digit increase in all profitability indicators thanks to organic, sustainable and profitable growth in all the main markets”, says the CEO Cristina Pops. In particular, “the United States, in line with our strategic plan, contributed significantly to the expansion of revenues and all channels, both in the home and away from home segments, recorded an increase compared to the previous year”.
“Despite the fact that the macroeconomic context remains complex and, in particular, raw material prices continue to be affected by high volatility and an upward trend, the results achieved allow us to look forward to the second part of the year with confidence and to confirm investments in sustainable innovation and increased production capacity”.
In the period considered, all the main markets grew, in particular, in the United States, revenues recorded a +11%, supported mainly by the Ho.Re.Ca channels. and e-commerce; Italy (+5%) and Spain (+21%) also grew. From a channel point of view, growth was mainly driven by Ho.Re.Ca., supported by a positive rate of acquisition of new customers in the premium segment of the market, by Modern Trade thanks to a constant expansion of distribution and by e-commerce supported by the recent launch of the new e-shop.
