Come da tradizione Miuccia Prada participated in the launch of the new one Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli «AC75», the boat that will compete next August in the most important sailing competition, the 37th America's Cup to be held in Barcelona. Next to her on the pier of the port of Cagliari, Sardinia, the owner of this nautical jewel, the stylist's husband Patrick Bertelli – which he founded Red Moon in the early 90s – and the entire team Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli.
The sea baptism of the only Italian vessel participating in the 37th America's Cup in Barcelona (August - October) was, as expected, a great party, capable of bringing together over five hundred guests in the Sardinian capital (plus team members with their families ) arrived from Italy and abroad to attend the eagerly awaited unveling ceremony.
Doing the honours, Patrizio Bertelli (president of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team) and his wife Miuccia Prada, flanked by Marco Tronchetti Provera (executive vice president of Pirelli, co-title sponsor from 2021), by Skipper and Team Director Max Sirena and the president of the challenger Yacht Club – the Circolo della Vela Sicilia – Agostino Randazzo.
«I'm very happy with that The Woolmark Company has decided to renew the technical partnership by accompanying us in our challenge towards 37th America's Cup", tell us Max Siren, skipper and Team Media Release 2 Director of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli. «For a sports team of our level, wearing high-quality technical clothing also means improving competitive performance. After testing the garments during the last edition of theAmerica’s Cup, we took the opportunity to develop technical training uniforms together, exploiting the characteristics of this natural fiber which, moreover, is perfectly in line with the policy of sustainability pursued by Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli». For Lorenzo Bertelli, Marketing Director and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility of Prada Group, «Luna Rossa Prada Pirellie The Woolmark Company consolidate their joint commitment in terms of innovation, technology and social responsibility by renewing their technical partnership».
Partly out of good luck, partly out of respect for traditions, the launching ceremony followed the schedule tested over a quarter of a century, which includes the blessing by the archbishop and the fateful wait in the square.
