With his first collection Moncler, Alicia Keys takes us to the place where dreams are born. Inspired by New York but crafted for a global stage, the pieces capture the energy, hope and optimism of the city through the loose silhouettes and bold colors of the Years' 90. The aesthetics of Alice for this collection it combines the masculine and the feminine in an androgynous and gender-neutral capsule.
Alice, New York City represents the union between determination in work and the realization of one's dreams. In particular, it is the Manhattan end Years' 90 – cradle of hope, pre-millennial and colorful street style – to directly influence the style of the collection. Strong and exuberant shades such as green, red and Alicia's characteristic pop purple appear on deliberately oversized sporty silhouettes, accessorized with nylon bucket hats, halter tops and micro t-shirts. She is a lively but at the same time sensual wardrobe.
The images of the campaign bring together two different perspectives. The first, portrayed by Ibrahem Hasan, highlights the New York inspiration by showing the world's most famous skyline in the background, with real and authentic casting.
In fact, Alicia chooses creative New Yorkers from her city to compose the cast of dreamers of the new generation. The protagonists – a poet, a musician, an actress and a songwriter – together with Keys they swing above the skyscrapers of the city, in a metaphor of the commitment necessary to reach and realize one's dreams.
The second perspective, entrusted to the photographer Laura Jane Coulson, brings Alicia's personality and character into focus in a series of authentic and colorful portraits that present her in her role as a designer.
Although the dreams and ideas of Alice were born in New York, the fresh and vibrant style of his collection was unveiled at London Fashion Week at the event The Art of Genius. During the latter, the singer passed the microphone to female London artists Little Simz e Cleo Sol, emphasizing the importance of the value of local communities. The two interpreters, who for Alice symbolize creativity, strength and talent, they were the first to wear his garments on stage.
The collection Moncler x Alicia Keys was launched exclusively on Net-a-porter il 22 March and from 23 March will be available in selected corporate shop Moncler and moncler.com.
