The new exhibition-event set up in the exclusive location of theFrench Embassy in Italy, Palazzo Farnese a Roma, narrates a myth of culture, craftsmanship and history thanks to the creations of Sylvio Giardina, artist and designer capable of transforming the refined art of embroidery in an interactive and captivating performance.
In front of a team of embroiderers engaged in meticulous and complex tasks and two large looms that act as portals, Giardina celebrated the tenth anniversary of the homonymous brand, founded in 2013 and since then the protagonist of impactful artistic visions, between installations, videos and performances like Crochet de Luneville, Vertigo o lovebreak.
In the halls of the noble floor of the building the performative event, conceived on the occasion of the presentation of the collection haute couture SS23, he wound his way between the Hall of the Farnese Hercules, Murano Gallery up to Carracci Gallery: in the first room the embroiderers have created plots with a golden and austere geometry, which seem to trace the ceilings made by Michelangelo, while in the second gallery you are dresses with soft and melancholic colors complete a picture that seems to represent a gloomy spring, where to excel are the teal, ivory and clay.
Finally, the Carracci Gallery myth, nature, culture and rebirth are narrated with famous frescoes, intertwining icons and craftsmanship: eight embroiderers work on a loom that mirrors the decoration of the ceilings, the Triumph of Bacchus and Ariadne.
