Combining the quintessential duvet with the charm and flair of a much-loved designer. Take Moncler and Pierpaolo Piccioli, transform a capsule/dream into something tangible. The starting point? Naturally an outerwear, the historic Maya down jacket, designed for the first time in the Fifties which, today, becomes the icon of this project developed by the two labels.
Refined aesthetics and sporty fabrics meet in a couture yet relaxed version of the iconic down jacket Moncler. “I imagined a comfortable and casual jacket in nylon laqué. The main challenge was to join the various padded and profiled panels, held together by hand-applied fabric knots. I am fascinated by the potential of sports outerwear, a design in which practical benefits and stylistic research can coexist”, he says Pierpaolo Piccioli, who chose the top model as the face of the campaign Kirsten McMenamy. “Kirsten is an artist and a performer: she was born for the scene and she knows how to have fun on set. Her versatile and histrionic aura permeates the atmosphere with an overwhelming energy. The same energy that makes our work of quality, as well as fun and unique”.
