Guru is the youth clothing brand created by Matteo Cambi in Parma in 1999. Its logo is the unforgettable stylized six-petal daisy with very marked black outlines.
In a short time the logo became a famous fashion brand leading to the sale of 200.000 t-shirts in 2001 alone 2002 the company closes the year with a turnover of over 10 million euros and the distribution of over 3 million items, becoming famous throughout the world.
In XNUMX it was a real catchphrase: the T-shirt with the daisy he had conquered everyone, from footballers to television showgirls, from deejays of the most famous Italian discos to cover characters. It was a simple and immediate graphic that managed to become an icon of those years.
Guru in 2005 also becomes sponsor of Renault Corse winning the Formula 1 world title the following year. Not bad for a small project born only a few years earlier with an investment of a few million lire.
Unfortunately, however, in July 2008 the bankruptcy was declared and Matteo Cambi came arrested for fraudulent bankruptcy.
Over the years, many things have changed and in 2018 someone again senses the potential of this brand. He is Gianluca Sessarego, CEO of the Ghep company which specializes in the production and marketing of branded clothing and footwear at an international level.
After taking his master's license in 2020, this year he bought the Guru brand with the aim of making the daisy return to everyone's breasts. The first collaboration we know of is the one with Marbel Group, a leading Italian company in the kidswear sector for over 30 years founded by Giuseppe Cariello, CEO of Marbel Spa.
There is certainly great anticipation for the next one Spring-summer 2022, the season of the great relaunch of the brand. The distinctive signs will be the same as always: the 6-petalled flower, the colors, the cheerfulness and the positivity.
