Ken Saito by Jalopnik researcher and collector, he was lucky enough to come across the incredible collection of cars that hides behind the windows of what apparently is nothing more than a normal classic car dealer and supercars. But in the showroom he found much more to admire, such as the Ferrari 288 GTOs.
The story of Moroi-san, become one of the most famous collectors in the world is very special.
roughly 25 years ago, Moroi bought one Toyota 2000GT in very bad conditions, and using the machinery of his industrial activity, he began to make spare parts to bring the model back to life. His work was so appreciated, that the same Toyota commissioned him to produce spare parts for the 2000GT and today Moroi-san is the undisputed king of spare parts for this model.
After the success achieved, Moroi he devoted himself to pieces of more important models, such as Porsche, Ferrari e Lamborghini and has become a reference throughout the Japan.
To date, the Japanese collector owns more than 100 car is Ken Saito by Jalopnik had the pleasure of seeing and photographing.
On over 100 models there is a very particular one, already shown in an episode of Top Gear: a Porsche 962 . The car, initially born as one of the few examples produced by Vern Schuppan in Australia, it was then modified by a later owner who replaced the bodywork with the current one with Rothmans livery.
The last piece added to the collection is the Pagani Huayra, purchased by mistake - probably due to a misunderstanding - from a Swiss dealer friend of Moroi. Once the mistake was understood, however, it was too late to cancel the order and the Huayra it lies unused and never even registered in Japan, waiting to be sold.
