The English magazine Decanter has compiled the ranking Premium Italian Sparkling Wines - Classic Method, crowning the first two Alta Langa Docg wines.
They are Deltetto's Millesimato Brut Alta Langa 2016 and Marcalberto's Millesimato Extra Brut Alta Langa 2016 captained the July ranking, both with 95 points and the title of Outstanding. Of the 95 wines tasted, coming, as well as from Piedmont, from Lombardy, Veneto, Trentino, Emilia Romagna, Puglia and Sicily, 44 (of which 11 Alta Langa Docg) were defined Highly Recommended, reaching a score between 90 and 94, while the same number of 47 (of which 4 Alta Langa Docg) have been recognized recommended, getting a score between 86 and 89.
The success of the classic Alta Langa method is welcomed with words of pride and satisfaction from Giulio Bava, President of the Consortium, who underlines the necessary and constant commitment of local producers to increase "quality, authority and notoriety".
